Pamela joined the New York office in June 2003 to help start the U.S. Litigation Group. She came to Allen & Overy after teaching at Fordham Law School, working as a partner at a major New York law firm and serving as a federal prosecutor.

Having left a partnership at a major New York law firm to find a more balanced family-tolerant life, Pamela was teaching at Fordham University School of Law when she ran into Michael Feldberg at a charity dinner for the Brennan Center. "As young lawyers, Michael and I had worked together in the United States Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York, learning the craft of a trial lawyer. When it came time to move on to private practice Michael and I explored opening our own boutique litigation firm, but the need to rent office space, hire staff and invest in the right technology discouraged us, and each of us became partners at established New York firms."

By 2003, however, Allen & Overy had decided to develop a U.S. Litigation practice and approached Michael to set it up. "At the dinner Michael and I discussed what an exciting opportunity Allen & Overy had presented. It was the ideal melding of our long held desire to set up a New York litigation boutique with our desire to do the highest quality work for sophisticated clients, which the Allen & Overy platform provided."

Several years later Pamela finds that the reality of the U.S. Litigation Group has exceeded her expectations, thanks in large measure to their global litigation colleagues and their New York litigation associates. "In deciding to join Allen & Overy we had not appreciated how extraordinarily brilliant, wonderfully witty and warmly welcoming our litigation colleagues around the globe would be. We enjoy representing clients in multi-jurisdictional financial services case, not only because Allen & Overy is without equal in offering clients seamless cross-border regulatory representation, but because our global colleagues are great to work with both professionally and personally."

Another plus has been the quality of the associates the U.S. Litigation Group has attracted. "There are many great law firms in New York and we were concerned that attracting the best and brightest to a new venture might be difficult. To the contrary, we have been able to recruit a terrific group of associates who share both Allen & Overy's global vision and our entrepreneurial spirit."
